How can we help?
Getting started
Account setup, onboarding, and seat types.
How do I set up my account?+
After signing up, Ren walks you through a short onboarding flow — your name, role, company, and a few questions to discover your coaching archetype. Takes about five minutes.
What's a coaching archetype?+
During onboarding, Ren identifies your default leadership pattern — Fixer, Fighter, or Friend for managers, or one of five archetypes for individual contributors. This personalizes your coaching so Ren meets you where you are.
How do I complete my profile?+
Your home screen shows a progress tracker. Tap through each step — profile basics, growth theme discovery, career goals, role context, and culture alignment. Completing these helps Ren coach you more effectively.
What's the difference between a Manager seat, Team Member seat, and Team Profile?+
Manager seats ($40/mo) get the full Growth Loop — feedback drafting, 1:1 prep, team coaching insights, and direct report management. Team Member seats ($15/mo) get unlimited personal coaching. Team Profiles are free — they let managers track coaching notes about a direct report without that person needing to log in.
Coaching conversations
Conversation types, voice coaching, and daily briefs.
What types of conversations can I have with Ren?+
Ren supports several conversation types: Open (free-form coaching), Meeting prep (prepare for important meetings), Growth (personal development), Develop (create growth plans for team members), Accountability (navigate accountability conversations), and Resolve (work through conflicts). Each starts with context-specific guidance.
Can I talk to Ren by voice?+
Yes. Ren offers voice coaching calls for deeper sessions — Growth Theme Discovery, Role Assessment, Goals Planning, Culture Alignment, and open coaching calls. Tap the voice call option when starting a conversation.
How do coaching briefs work?+
Each morning, Ren generates a brief with coaching opportunities, follow-up reminders, and suggested conversations. The brief is built only from channels you’re part of that admins or managers have added Ren to. Messages aren’t stored in the app — they’re read once to generate the brief, then only the summary is kept.
Can I organize or archive my conversations?+
Yes. You can star important conversations, organize them into folders, or archive ones you're done with. Everything is searchable.
Team management & the Growth Loop
Inviting team members, 1:1 prep, and tracking progress.
How do I add team members?+
Go to My Team, tap Invite, and send invitation links. You can assign people as managers, team members, or create free Team Profiles. New members get their own onboarding flow.
What's the Growth Loop?+
The Growth Loop is Ren's structured coaching framework for managers. Quick actions include: Input Goals (help a report get clear on priorities), Set Focus (define a growth area), Prep 1:1 (build an agenda), and Just Say It (draft feedback or difficult messages).
How does 1:1 prep work?+
Before a one-on-one, open a Meeting conversation in Ren. It pulls context from your team member's growth themes, recent coaching moments, and your past conversations to help you build a focused, actionable agenda.
Can I see my team's progress?+
Your team dashboard shows each direct report's profile completion, growth focus areas, and coaching activity. You can see who needs attention and where coaching moments are emerging.
Integrations
Connect the tools your team already uses.
Slack
LiveConnect Slack so Ren can surface coaching moments from your team’s conversations. Ren only reads messages in the specific channels that admins or managers explicitly add it to — it never scans your entire workspace. Messages aren’t stored in the app; they’re processed once to generate coaching summaries, then discarded.
How to connect
- 1Go to Settings → Integrations in the Ren app
- 2Click Connect Slack and authorize Ren in your workspace
- 3Admins or managers choose which specific channels to add Ren to
- 4Ren reads messages only in those channels to generate coaching insights — nothing is stored directly
Microsoft Teams
Coming SoonTeams integration is on the way. Like Slack, Ren will only read messages in channels that admins or managers explicitly add it to — never the full workspace. Messages are processed once for coaching insights and stored only as summaries.
Zoom
Coming SoonZoom integration will let Ren pull context from meetings to power better 1:1 prep and post-meeting coaching.
Gmail
Coming SoonGmail integration will give Ren visibility into communication patterns to surface coaching opportunities.
Account & billing
Plans, cancellation, invoices, and free trials.
How do I change my plan or add seats?+

How do I cancel?+
You can cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription. No contracts, no cancellation fees. Your access continues through the end of your billing period.
Where can I find my invoices?+
Your billing history and invoices are in Settings → Billing. If you need a specific invoice or have a billing question, email us at support@tryren.com.
Is there a free trial?+
Yes — 7 days free, no credit card required. You get full access to coaching for yourself and up to 5 team members.
Privacy & security
Your data is yours. Here’s how we protect it.
Who can see my coaching conversations?+
Nobody but you. Your conversations with Ren are completely private. They’re never shared with your manager, HR, or anyone else. Managers choose what context to share — Ren never reports on their behalf.
Does my data train AI models?+
No. Your data never trains any AI models. Ren is SOC 2 Type II certified with privacy-first design. Enterprise customers can request a Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
Can I delete my conversations?+
Yes. You can archive or delete any conversation from your conversation list. Deleted conversations are permanently removed.
Where can I find your compliance documentation?+
